Having some trouble getting my scbwi badge to stick on the site where it should be.

This is an important organization to join if you want to write for children. More on that later–I just created an ad with them that will launch on October 10.

Chapbook Alert!

Only a few days until summer in a bowl..and now more news if food and words

The very talented Elizabeth Maines of Finishing Line Press

Has done a first go for the cover of my chap book

Languid Lusciousness with Lemon.

To fit better on the cover, we are going with

Languid…with Lemon

I must admit I am extra thrilled because the photo is my work, from one of our trips.. But it was Elizabeths skill that made it workable. Final may differ a bit but oh boy!

The book is available for pre sale now and will be out in January…in time for my birthday!

Thank you to Alice Osborne and Pat Riviere-Seel for reading the poems and writing blurbs for the book and generally encouraging me in poetry…

Many more get kudos in that area too, starting with Sister Anne at Ursuline Academy, on up thru many editors and friends

Thoughts this Morning

This morning I woke up thinking of John Keats, one of my Dad’s favorite poets. I recalled that tho I had seen the house where he and Shelly lived in Rome, I had never gone in–want to put that on my list of things still to do in Rome. Got in the car and discovered to day is the day Keats wrote his wonderful Ode to Autumn–and of course, this date itself is also important to me as the date of my parents’ anniversary! Wow–a lot to take in on a rainy Monday. This would have been their 70th had they lived. I wonder if my Dad ever mused on the coincidence of the day and this lovely poem–may parents spent their honeymoon on the Mohawk Trail in New York, appreciating the autumn mists and colors Keats wrote about.

Start Your Day with a Chuckle

Let’s start the day with a laugh, or just a huckle and wry smile! Two of my previously published
Poeming Pigeon Poems and three new, short flash pieces are now up on a great British site. My humor is sort of dry and ironic. Shawn Aveningo Sanders likes it and so does Brian! Thank you both for supporting my work. Check out my chuckles at
